Filter Type 1

This is also known as a single-cavity filter. It is characterized by an extremely narrow peak, and gradual sideband slopes.

Filter Type 2

This is also known as a two-cavity filter. It is characterized by a rounded peak.

Filter Type 3

This is also known as a three-cavity filter. It is characterized by a square peak and fairly steep sideband slopes.

Filter Type 4

This is also known as a four-cavity filter. It is characterized by very steep sideband slopes and a square but wavy peak.

Filter Type 5

This is also known as a five-cavity filter. It is characterized by very steep sideband slopes and a square but wavy peak.

Filter Type 6

This is the same bandshape as a filter type 2, but does not include any additional out-of-band blocking. It is also referred to as a "spike" filter.
